From conflict at work & in our communities to stress at home, we can easily get stuck in overwhelm of how to best handle a challenging situation. Here's a simple tip that works for my clients.

When you are feeling stuck about how to deal with a challenging situation, ask yourself:

In a year when I look back at this time, what do I want to be most proud of about how I showed up?

This simple question allows us to step away from the present stress and gain perspective on what we hold most important: our values and our beliefs in what matters most.

When my clients respond, their demeanor changes from fogginess to clarity, from self-doubt to grounded confidence.  It roots us in this reality: We can't control the situation, but we can control how we respond.
